Welcome to the Rochester Campus

My name’s Fanny and I’m your Students’ Union point of contact in Rochester if you need any help or advice, want to organise a club or society, or have any requests or complaints. I graduated from the Fashion Design course here this year, so I understand the issues and concerns you may have, and will do my very best to help you. I am normally in my office in the bar, and my door is always open, even if you just want to pop in for a chat.

Opening hours:

The Students’ Union office in Rochester is normally open 9-5 all weekdays. If I am not in, I will normally leave a note saying when/where you can find me. You can always email me at vprochester@ucreative.ac.uk or call me on 01634 888 704, even if I am not in my office.

Campaigns at Rochester:

At the moment, we are awaiting a verdict on the campus-wide smoking ban, which we have been campaigning against. The Students’ Union believes that the students and staff of the University College should be provided with a designated smoking area to minimise littering, fire hazards and any danger to the smokers at the campus. Please join this campaign on Facebook (search for vprochester@ucreative.ac.uk)!

We will soon be holding an election (24th-25th October) and there’s still time to nominate yourself to be a student officer! Please come to the Students’ Union office to find out what you can do for yourself and your fellow students.

The Students’ Union has also been liaising with the NHS to provide information to you, the students, about things like giving up smoking, safe sex and sexual health, and hopes to become an official Chlamydia testing site soon!

The National Learner Panel is working with the University College and the Students’ Union to find students interested in joining their panel to improve student life on a national level. More info about this from you Vice-President or on www.direct.gov.uk.
