Campaigning for you the Students of UCA

The Students' Union runs various campaigns throughout the year responding to your feedback. Each campus sets it own agenda and the Union also runs events cross-campus.

Library opening hours

This is a campaign that started last year on Farnham campus, and after the release of the In- House Student Survey it is very clear that you are all still very unhappy with the opening hours of each of your LLRC’s. Each campus has different opening hours and they do not take in to consideration your study habits. Some sites don’t open at weekends at all, making your study time very limited. UCASU believes that students should be entitled to study when they want, not when the University decides. If you have any comments or ideas regarding this campaign then please go in to your local Students’ Union.

Student Funding Campaign

This campaign will run very closely alongside the NUS Broke & Broken Campaign, which is getting a lot of press at the moment. This is a key campaign to all, as it affects every student, past, present and future. This campaign will involve lobbying straight to the government, with a lot of national events planned for this year ahead. The first of which is on the 5th November, it’s named ‘Students’ in the Red’. This is not the first year this campaign has run, and in the past has seen 100000’s of red balloons taking to skies all addressed to local MP’s and the PM. This is a campaign that we can all easily be involved in. As creative students I am sure we can collectively come up with an original and powerful red campaign. If you would like to get involved in this campaign please pop down to your SU!

Let us know if you have any projects issues you want us to lobby the University on.
